Glasgow Community Councils
The Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils (2013) (PDF, 35 pp) Hutchesontown Community Council is a voluntary body of local residents that exists within a statutory framework established by Glasgow City Council. Our general purpose is to ascertain, co-ordinate and express the wider views of the entire community within its agreed boundaries. We complement complement the role of Glasgow City Council but are not part of local government. The four elected councillors representing Ward 8 on the Glasgow City Council are ex-officio members of the Hutchesontown Community Council, with two on average attending our meetings. All Community Council meetings are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend. Our meetings are normally the third Tuesday of the month, 7 pm at the St. Francis Hall (excepting July and December). |
