Subject: Environmental Task Force
Dear Resident
I hope all is well. I am delighted to update on the newly formed Environmental Task Force (ETF).
I have attached a booklet that provides details of the new ETF and to summarise what this means for you in your local area, here are a few points:-
The objectives of the ETF are
- Tackling environmental incivility such as dog fouling, littering, fly tipping and general environmental dereliction;
- Improving neighbourhoods through environmental enhancement in both public and private spaces and improving service delivery through technology and coordinated arrangements across the Council family and partner agencies;
- Effective citizen engagement through Area Partnerships, RSLs and Community Councils;
- Identifying and training of volunteers to work in conjunction with the Task Force;
- Delivering an effective and regular communication strategy that encourages citizen reporting and participation;
- Developing an Environmental Task Force trainee programme;
- Working and involving schools on community clean ups and maintaining a green environment; and
- Enhanced enforcement measures.
I feel that this is an excellent opportunity to tackle the various environmental issues that we experience often in the Southside Central that can be addressed by the Environmental Task Force - 0300 343 7027 and you can also report incidents on the twitter page @envtaskforce. My Twitter ID is @soryia.
Your sincerely
Councillor Soryia Siddique
