We are pleased to advise that from 10 December we will operate a by-request-only service for bulk uplifts from residents in flats and main door properties.
A request-only service means the council will no longer be collecting bulky waste from designated pick-up points on 'bulk day'.
Residents can place a request for a maximum of 10 items on MyGlasgow App or by using our online form.
Residents will receive an email acknowledgement and once the request has been processed they will receive a further email with their Collection Date.
Bulky waste should only be presented on the day before Collection Date.
Bulky waste should be placed within the grounds of residents property (e.g. a backcourt or garden) and it should be ensured it does not obstruct bins or common pathways. Just leaving items on the street or in a back lane will be regarded as fly-tipping and the people responsible will be open to enforcement action.
More information is available in our FAQs section.
During the pandemic, many housing associations have removed items on behalf of their tenants and tenants are advised to check with their landlord for up-to-date information on local arrangements for them.
Residents can continue to visit our Household Waste Recycling Centres, and if items are in good condition, residents can also use Zero Waste Scotland's National Re-use Tool and donate these items to charity.
We know this has been an exceptionally tough time for everyone and we are very grateful for the support we have received from housing associations and also from the vast majority of householders, who have stored items safely or made use of our waste centres.
